Revolution 2.8 Imminent

Developer Experience Improvements Support Solid Existing Support

February 8, 2007. Edinburgh, Scotland. Runtime Revolution Ltd, the
leader in multi-platform rich media and application development tools,
announces the imminent release of Revolution 2.8 an interim release of
their flagship product. Revolution 2.8 implements modest corrections to
ensure compatibility with Microsoft Corporation's release of Windows
Vista.

All Revolution users with current maintenance plans will receive the
update for free; however, anyone that orders new or renews their plan
prior to the shipment of 2.8 will receive an additional three month
extension to their renewal period.

This release specifically corrects a list of issues in the following
operating systems: Microsoft Vista Home Basic, Microsoft Vista Home
Premium, Microsoft Vista Ultimate, Microsoft Vista Business, and
Microsoft Vista Enterprise. It also includes general installer
improvements, look and feel improvements under Vista and over 50 IDE
improvements that are not directly related to the release of Vista.

"I am happy to announce that this release focuses on the developer
experience, including several Vista specific improvements requested by
our user community. Ongoing testing with the Vista beta means most
existing Revolution applications run without problems under Vista - we
want to improve on that experience," said Kevin Miller, CEO of Runtime
Revolution.

Runtime Revolution is the most versatile and flexible cross-platform
development tool available, with the broadest operating system support:
Windows, MacOS X Universal Binary, Linux and Solaris. Create projects
on one platform and deploy your application on all platforms.
Revolution is a development environment of firsts: it is the first
non-Apple rapid application development environment with true,
Universal binary compilation. It is also the first and only development
environment with direct, native compilation for the highly secure U3
smart drive platform. Revolution can also run directly off of a secure
U3 compatible drive.

The Revolution 2.8 update is available for the entire product line,
including Revolution Media ($49), Revolution Studio ($399) and
Revolution Enterprise ($999).
