Vista Support Added and Over 50 Other Feature Improvements
Runtime Revolution Ltd, the leader in multi-platform rich media and application development tools, announces the release of Runtime Revolution 2.8 for Microsoft Windows and MacOS X.
All Revolution users with current maintenance plans will receive the update for free.
This release specifically improves applications that target the following operating systems: Microsoft Vista Home Basic, Microsoft Vista Home Premium, Microsoft Vista Ultimate, Microsoft Vista Business, and Microsoft Vista Enterprise. These include correct, native appearances for menus and menu bars, popup menus, buttons, fields, scroll bars, tooltips, little arrows and the Vista file selector dialog. Other features include:
-Support for the new Microsoft Vista security model
-New, signed installer process
Both Windows and MacOS X (Universal Binary) versions of Revolution also include:
- Image Resizing Options. Now supports three resizing options for images and in image manipulation programs created with Revolution.
- Faster, Improved Image Resizing. Not only is speed dramatically improved but also the use of alpha masks is enhanced.
- Backdrop Improvements. Interaction between task bar and application backdrops improves rich media applications.
- General Improvements. Window layering, keyboard shortcuts and menu handling user experiences.
Numerous minor improvements bring the total list of new features and improvements up over fifty: relative path handling for images, clipboard handling, encryption, printing, table editing, script editing, standalone building and file selection dialogs.
